Ah! We made it! There are honestly so many amazing things about this place! As we drove in from the airport there was a monument made of Jesus and it was beautiful! I wish I had a picture of it! It is made of metal, but more specifically it is made from melted rifles that were used in the horrible civil war that overcame the country years ago. Also, fun fact, the original name for El Salvador is a word that traslates to english as “the place of beautiful things” and it is indeed a place of BEAUTIFUL things.
I am in love with this place and it is only the first day! Also, we got to drink from coconuts so that was pretty neat. It doesn´t quite taste like I thought it would, but still yummy.
Most of us are pretty tired from the trip, so we are laying low tonight so we can rest up and be our best for the soccer clinic tomorrow! However, we still went out to a field just around the corner (soccer fields are everywhere here) and played. It was a battle of the sexes as the men teamed up with some fellas that were already out there, and the ladies just did what we do best. Needless to say, the girls won.
I honestly can´t wait for all the great things coming up ahead! Also, being a spanish major is helping big time! It is kinda scary sometimes to speak to some people, but they really just like the effort and it is just wonderful! So yes daddy, I actually did learn spanish and can speak it.
Keep praying for all the adventure to come!! Love you all!
